(the only negative thing; should have had a SIGN, please be aware, people sleeping on first floor). "We have stayed in the Villas (not the bed and breakfast) every time we have gone to Ocracoke. The building is very cool and it is a good location near the harbor, and there is a pool. The villas are nice and have a costal feel. However, when we visited last in June 2021, we noticed several cosmetic issues: the stove top was a bit messed up, the door handle kept falling of, and the outside wood was getting rough and covered with wasp nest. Nice place to stay and will stay here again, but it could use a bit of TLC. Rooms: The villa we stayed in had a main area with a full kitchen, living room, screened porch, bedroom, bathroom with jet tub. There was a separate studio like room with a kitchenet, a bed, and a futon, and a bathroom. Nearby activities: Lots Walkability: Easy to walk to everything Food & drinks: No food Noteworthy details: Pool"

"We stayed in the lighthouse Suite and what an incredible room! Love the view from the top room of the lighthouse and the harbor! Loved the bed very comfortable and the shower and restroom facilities were awesome! We stayed one night but my wife and I decided we will be back for at least two possibly three nights in the near future! Would leave more than five stars if possible!"

"We were pleasantly surprised with The Castle. We loved the B & B homey feel. We missed the pool being open by a few days and we were given mixed messages on pool availability. But oh well. We enjoyed having access to bikes for transportation and we took full advantage of that. The lighthouse is just around the corner as well as restaurants. The Castle breakfast was DELICIOUS! Homemade buttery croissants, grits, fruit, and much more. The rooms had all that we needed and were very comfortable. We went up to the widow's walk a few times. We hardly saw any staff because we were out and about during the day. If we ever come to Ocracoke again, we will definitely book The Castle!"

"Unique experience. Rooms were clean, but our bathroom was small. Breakfast was delicious and we loved meeting the other guests. The pool and sauna were well maintained and very clean. We loved having cocktails on the widow's walk overlooking Silver Lake Harbor. Beautiful location. Noteworthy details: Bikes, heated pool, and sauna available. All were well maintained and very clean. Price was a great value."

"This was a beautiful old bed and breakfast. The room was incredibly comfy with a huge shower and great bed. The fella Zachariah at the front desk was so incredibly polite and professional. He had the answer to every question and made sure we were familiar with all of the offerings at the inn. The free bikes were a nice touch and the discounted golfcart rental was great! There's a really cool elevated porch right on the sound that was great for star gazing. The pool was clean and very nice along with the rest of the facilities. All in all this was a perfect place for a short honeymoon. My wife and I had an amazing time and will likely return if for no other reason because of the great service!"
