BB11: The Lighthouse Suite is very unusual in size and shape and crowns the Castle on the third floor. The unique dormer windows, ceilings, and cupola make this room our most requested. When you rent this three-level suite, you get a sitting room with half bath, bedroom with Queen bed and full bath with large walk-in shower which looks out upon the historic lighthouse, and the private cupola at the very top of The Castle. The Lighthouse Suite includes a small wet bar and three cable televisions. There are approximately 59 steps up to this suite. This suite comfortably sleeps 2.
The Castle Bed and Breakfast welcomes children age 8 and older. Although we have a select number of rooms that will accommodate an older child with their parents, we do not have facilities for younger children. For families traveling with younger children, guests may wish to stay at one of our Courtyard Villas located adjacent to the Castle Bed and Breakfast.
There is a Widow’s Walk, a large outside deck, that surrounds the Cupola for sunbathing and watching the sunset. The Widow’s Walk has exterior steps and is open to all guests from 9 am to 9 pm. After 9 pm, the outside deck is the Lighthouse Suite's private viewing area
The Lighthouse Suite offers panoramic views of the village including Silver Lake Harbor and the Ocracoke Lighthouse.
Guests of The Castle wake up each morning to a freshly cooked breakfast buffet, said to be the best breakfast on the island. Guests also have full access to the community pool, sauna, and steam showers. And don't forget to take time to enjoy the beautiful views of Silver Lake Harbor from the widow's walk and sun deck. The sun deck is located on our private dock and is a great place to watch the sunset over the harbor after a relaxing island day.
Complimentary dockage is available at the Castle's floating docks on Silver Lake Harbor, featuring power hookups and a fish cleaning bench. Dockage is subject to availability, so please request in advance when making your Castle reservation. Complimentary bicycles are also available to our guests on a first come first serve basis.
